As the global focus sharpens on reducing climate change the nuclear power industry is expanding like never before. Currently there are 50 Nuclear New Builds (NNB) under construction around the world, with forward orders for over 100 new reactors and plans for more sites proposed. Along side the necessary decommissioning work required over the next decade, sector looks set to remain buoyant.
Yet, due to the extremely technical specification of many roles and the widely acknowledged skills shortage, the industry faces major challenges in recruiting the required talent to deliver new projects on time and in budget. This is where MDE can help to plan, develop and implement a recruitment strategy that not only secures experienced, qualified professionals, but that entices mid and entry level workers who will go on to lead the next phase of industry growth.
With experience of supporting projects at design, development and construction phase, MDE understand the key issues in recruiting permanent and contract workers for this unique sector, from security clearance to export control.
